Weaving

Not much to report on the fiber arts front – mostly I’ve been winding the warp for my tiger-eye shawl, which is a long and tedious process.  857 warp ends in this shawl – it’s going to take forever to set up, but I hope it will be worth it.  I’ve dyed two subtly different shades of orange and am striping them in the warp – hoping for some nearly-subliminal striping.  (The pattern itself is so “busy” that I’m afraid that more serious striping would produce mush.)  I am also getting samples of the beads I would like to use in the fringe from a lampworker.  Here’s the photo she sent me:

I think they may be too much for the delicate silk and cashmere, but I may order some anyway – I love tiger anything, and I could easily weave a less delicate shawl that could accommodate the beads.

Off to wind some more warp…
