Had my first Spinning (gym-type, not handspinning) class today. Â I was NOT prepared for it!Â We spent virtually all our time out of the saddle, although I spent some time sitting down because my quads werenâ€™t yet strong enough to stand the entire time.
Physically it was quite challenging â€“ all my training to date has been endurance training, meaning long, low intensity work. Â I ride for hours at a time, but rarely get out of breath. Â So an hour of short, high-intensity work was a HUGE challenge.
But a good one.Â I think Iâ€™ll be back for more. Â Hopefully my legs will get stronger and it wonâ€™t be so difficult.
Meanwhile, Iâ€™m having a root canal tomorrow, which I hope goes well, but which may impact my cycling this weekend.Â Weâ€™ll see.
