I’m debating what to do for my next project.  At the moment I have several unfinished tutus, plus the painted warp, plus the peacock-feather tutu.  I think I will focus on the peacock-feather tutu, as I still have to design the threading (a networked satin in all probability) for the painted-warp shawl, and I’m not sure how to design a network satin, so I’d have to do a bunch of reading that I don’t feel like doing just yet.  So, I will be working on the muslin for that tonight, and hopefully I can get started on the feathered portion of it this weekend!

I particularly want to start the peacock feather tutu as I have to spend an hour and a half in a laundromat this weekend getting a large comforter laundered – that will give me something to work on as I wait at the laundromat.  This is an interesting laundromat, though – half laundromat and half cafe!  What a great idea – have some leisurely coffee while you wait for your laundry.  They even have Internet access!  It must be San Francisco…

On one of the episodes of Lonely Planet (aka Globetrekker), Justine visited a laundrette that was also a pub! Alas, I forget where it was. The British Isles, I think.

I’m surprised somebody hasn’t made a chain on this concept! Someplace where you can do your laundry AND get a coffee or beer in a friendly hang-out place. Bet it would be an interesting singles place…call it “Duds and Suds” or something like that.
