This weekend I was mourning my total lack of productivity – I had been too busy to get anything done! More urgent things got in the way of what I wanted to do, and as a result I felt I hadn’t accomplished anything.
Then I looked back on what I’d actually done, and had to laugh at myself.
Saturday:
- set up my new iPhone 5
- did the weekly shopping at the San Francisco Ferry Plaza farmer’s market – a three-hour trip including driving time
- helped migrate a WordPress site to a new Web host
- finished two book blog posts
- took photos and created illustrations for book blog posts
- caught up with old friends at dinner
- went out to lunch with Mike
Sunday:
- resolved the problem of very slow page loads on this site and the Creating Craft site (much Googling required)
- finished writing an article about Complex Weavers
- made a huge batch of bread-and-butter pickles from the cucumbers in the garden
- made an experimental batch of onion-and-ginger pickles
- had a lengthy photo session with a professional headshot photographer
But what I did not do was get into the studio at all, which is probably why I’m feeling so frustrated! I had hoped to get the warps wound and dyed this weekend, but no dice. I was so busy I barely had time to blink!
I’m a bit worried about being overcommitted, since my three-dimensional design class starts tomorrow and the creativity class starts a month after. Plus I’m starting to plan out my chocolate-making, and I need to catch up with the book blog. I also have one more article to write forHandwoven, and have taken up exercising again, so I’m not sure when I’ll get into the studio next. I think it’s just about time to do a list of my major commitments and then start cutting.
(I also have a huge pile of tomatoes from the garden to can, and lots of zucchini to blanch and freeze. Definitely have my work cut out for me!)
