Starting the threading!

I got home from work tonight feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted – too tired to do anything requiring mental effort. So I made a beeline for the garage and started threading! It went quicker than I expected (about 5 threads/minute), and before I knew it, I had threaded up five inches’ worth:

Since my sample is a bit under 13″ wide, this means I’m a bit over 1/3 done. At this rate, I may be able to start weaving sometime next week. Hooray!

Meanwhile, I have finished writing my handouts for the workshop – hooray again! This means I can get back to writing more posts on the book blog. If I can just get to the end of the section on visual design, I’ll be out of the weeds and into a chapter that will be much easier to write.
